MARION, Ind. - No
. 24 Women's Tennis swept Georgetown College 7-0 on a windy day at Sutter Tennis Courts. The wind gusts were up to 30+ miles per hour making it difficult to keep the ball in play. The Wildcats did an amazing job battling through the wind and a tough opponent.
The doubles started to go quickly the Wildcats way as
Katie Parr and
Meribel Jarna got off to a double break to win easily 6-1.
Lauren Dick played with Paige Riegsecker today and came out with the same result, a doubles point clinching 6-0 win. All-Americans
Sofia Munoz and
France Antezana finished the doubles with a 6-3 victory. In singles, IWU really battled the increasing wind with a change in strategy depending on which side of the court they were on. The Wildcats gritted out a dweep in singles to win the match 7-0.
IWU has won 7 straight and play Saturday at 11:00 AM against a Campbellsville squad that is just outside the Top 25.
