MARION, IND. - The Indiana Wesleyan baseball team picked up a big win on Wednesday, defating RV Indiana Tech 19-16. The Wildcats erased an early 9-2 deficit and scored a season high 19 runs to earn the victory. Nick Wiley highlighted the day by hitting two home runs in the same inning.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Darien Pugh put Indiana Wesleyan ahead in the second inning with a 2 run homer that scored Kevin Corcoran.
• Over the next two innings the Warriors scored 9 unanswered to take a 9-2 lead.
• IWU got back on track in the 4th with a Pugh single that scored Caleb Englesman. Grant Payrson brought Pugh around later in the inning with a single.
• Engelsman cut the lead to 3 with a 2 run bomb that scored Trevor Vojtkofsky.
• IT extended their lead back to 6 with 3 runs in the 6th inning.
• The Wildcats stormed all the way back in the 6th inning, scoring 9 and taking a 15-12 lead. Nick WIley hit 2 home runs in the inning and recorded 5 RBIs.
• Vojtkofsky added another deep shot iin the 7th and IWU pushed their lead to 19-12.
• Indiana Tech got 4 runs in the 8th but were unable to overcome the late defecit.
•  Nick Wiley went 3-5, with 2 HRs, and 5 RBIs. Darien Pugh went 4-5, scored 4 runs, and tallied 5 RBIs.
• 8 Wildcats got time on the mound with Gibson Adema picking up the win.
