This is the first time in program history that the lady Wildcats have qualified for the USBC Intercollegiate team Championships and was a great experience for our program. According to Assistant Coach Zach Newman who coached the Lady Wildcats this past weekend, "The team worked hard and supported each other the entire weekend. I am proud of the work that this team has put in this past season, we have battled adversity and to qualify for sectionals is truly something to be proud of."
On the other side of the Smyrna Bowling Center, the Wildcat men, who also made their first trip in program history to the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, finished the weekend in 13th place with a 64 game pin total of 12,006 averaging 187 for the weekend. IWU finished just 6 pins behind 12th place Savannah College of Art and Design. The Wildcats started the weekend off slow but found their groove heading into the last 16 game block of the weekend. The team averaged 205 for a total of 3292 for their final 16 games of the tournament. This was the third highest score for the entire 4 block of the tournament.
- Head Coach Chris Karlin said, "This weekend was truly something special. The way that the team continued to work and support each other was amazing and they never gave up. The last 4 games of the tournament was a position round. The men's team was sitting in 16th place but had been bowling really well in the previous block. We made a small line-up change and had games of 166, 208, 233, and 201 to catapult ourselves ahead of Florida State University, Vincennes University and Missouri Baptist university to finish the weekend in 13th place. Thank you to our parents and sponsor Brunswick Bowling Products for supporting us this season. The team presented Seniors Chris Mace, Shea Miller, Carla Diamond and Cheyenne Cottrell with framed Jerseys to say thank you for your dedication these last 4 years."
- The Wildcats have finished their season and will come back next year.
