MARION, IND. - No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball fell in an overtime thriller on Saturday, losing 92-84 to No. 12 Marian. Maddie Lawrence and Taylor Folkema combined for 53 points on 19-30 from the field to lead the Wildcats.

WHAT HAPPENED

• Marian took the lead on a layup and a pair of free throws in the final minute of the first quarter for a 3 point advantage after a hard fought quarter.
• IWU knotted things up in the second, tying the game at 33 going in to half despite going scoreless in the final 1:48 of the frame.
• Taylor Folkema led the Wildcats to a 4 point advantage in the third quarter, scoring 10 points on 4-5 shooting. 
• IWU grew their lead to as much as 8, but MU went on a 13-0 run and buil5 their lead to 5. The teams went back and forth in the final few minutes. IWU tied the game on a banked in three from Maddie Lawrence with 27 seconds left. the senior forward knocked down a pair of free throws on the next possession to tie the game again. Marian hit a jumper with 5 seconds left, but Taylor Folkema grabbed an offensive rebound and got the put back to go at the buzzer to force OT.
• Lawrence came up clutch again in OT, hitting another triple to put IWU up 84-81 with 1:29 left. That would be the final basket for the Wildcats as the Knights finished the overtime period on an 11-0 run.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

• 24: Marian outscored IWU 24-12 on points off of turnovers including 9 in overtime.
• 16: The Knights biggest advantage came on second chance points, scoring 16 on 8 offensive rebounds. The Wildcats got just 3 second chance points.
• 19: Indiana Wesleyan turned the ball over 19 times, a season high.
