LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. - The Indiana Wesleyan baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to No. 3 Georgia Gwinnett on Thursday. The Wildcats looked poised to earn their second straight Top-5 upset before giving up 10 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to drop to 3-2 on the season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• IWU ripped off nine runs in the top of 4th after they gave up 1 run in the bottom of the third. Trevor Vojtkofsky highlighted the scoring burst with a 3 run homer over the field wall.
• GGC got 2 runs back in the bottom of the inning before both teams went scoreless for 3 straight innings. The Wildcats added 3 runs in the 8th inning to go up 12-3.
• The Grizzlies scored 10 unanswered in the bottom of the 8th and shut out Indiana Wesleyan in the 9th to complete the comeback.
• Vojtkofsky and Caleb Engelsman both went 3-6 with 3 RBIs. Englesman scored 3 times and Vojtkofsky twice.
• Cooper Chinn and Caleb Olsen were the first two pitchers on the mound and combined for 6 IP, 8 strikeouts, 6 hits, and 3 runs.
