KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana Wesleyan football safety
Vincie Solano was named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the NAIA on Tuesday. This is his first NAIA Player of the Week honor of the season and the second weekly award for the Wildcats this season.
Solano recording a game-high 14 tackles and a pair of interceptions in the Wildcats' 56-48 win over Taylor. The senior safety picked Taylor quarterback Alex Amburgy on the Trojans' opening drive, and in the fourth quarter, he intercepted Damon Hockett, keeping the game tied, 48-48 to set up a go-ahead scoring drive for the Wildcats, four possessions later.
IWU returns to Wildcat Stadium for Senior Day on November 8 against Lawrence Tech at 12:00PM.
