NO. 6 VOLLEYBALL EARNS FIFTH STRAIGHT SWEEP IN 3-0 WIN OVER GRACE

MARION, Ind. — Indiana Wesleyan University defeated Grace College in straight sets, 25-21, 25-14, 25-22, on Wednesday night in Luckey Arena, maintaining their unbeaten conference record. This victory marked the Wildcats' fifth sweep in a row and their eighth against Crossroads League opponents, contributing to their eleventh sweep overall this season. Indiana Wesleyan holds a 16-3 overall record and is undefeated at 10-0 in conference play, extending their Crossroads League win streak to an impressive 52 games. The Lancers have an 11-11 overall record with a 4-6 mark in conference competition. After the first game of the second half of league play, IWU holds a two-game lead in the league standings over MVNU at 8-2. IWU defeated the Cougars earlier this season, giving them the tiebreaker for the one seed in the Crossroads League Tournament.

SET ONE

  • The visitors took an early lead with a 7-4 advantage..  
  • Indiana Wesleyan responded with a 5-0 run, leveling the score at 9-9, driven by kills from Eva Joldersma
  • Midway through the set, IWU capitalized on multiple attack errors from GC, extending their lead to 18-14.  
  • Indiana Wesleyan sealed the set with a 25-21 victory, with Shae Williams providing the final point on a kill.
 

SET TWO 

  • Indiana Wesleyan jumped to a 3-0 lead, highlighted by a service ace from Dayessi Luis.  
  • The Lancers rallied to tie the set at 4-4, aided by a service ace.   
  • A series of kills from Joldersma and Marissa Mullins sparked Indiana Wesleyan to a 13-10 advantage.
  • The Wildcats closed the set on a 12-4 run, capped by a service ace from Cadee Notter, securing a 25-14 victory.
 

SET THREE 

  • Indiana Wesleyan went on an early 4-1 run, taking a 6-3 lead with key plays from Jessica Ickes and Williams.   
  • Grace fought back to tie the score at 8-8.   
  • IWU responded with a 6-2 stretch, regaining control at 14-10 behind Abbigail Porter's assists.
  • After GC tied it again at 16-16, Indiana Wesleyan closed on a 9-6 run, securing the set 25-22 on a Lancer attack error.
