HUNTINGTON, Ind. - No. 7 Women's Soccer took on the Huntington University Foresters on Saturday evening in their first unranked conference matchup. IWU initiated the first half with an offensive surge, opening the scoring in the 6th minute with a goal by Aliyah Denton, her first of the season, assisted by Sarah Foulk. This early momentum continued as Denton returned the favor with an assist to Foulk in the 17th minute. The offensive pressure remained high throughout the first period, and Carlie Grosser capitalized with two goals in quick succession at the 36th and 37th minutes, assisted by Jada Swanson and Mackenzie Minney, respectively. The Wildcats held a commanding 4-0 lead at the close of the first half, maintaining control by not allowing a single shot from Huntington. Yet again, IWU maintained offensive pressure early in the second half with multiple attempts on goal, but HU's goalkeeper denied shots from Alyssa Hamann, Denton, and Sydney Couch. Despite the consistent attacks, the Foresters managed to break through, scoring in the 56th minute to narrow the gap to 4-1. Indiana Wesleyan responded swiftly, with Grosser scoring her third of the match in the 65th minute, assisted by Minney for the second time, to restore a four-goal advantage at 5-1. The Wildcats continued to assert their control, generating several more scoring opportunities, though none found the back of the net. The half concluded with IWU preserving their lead, closing the game at 5-1. Freshman Grosser doubles her goal total on the season moving from 3-6.
