MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Men's Tennis lost 4-3 to Bethel University in a hard fought battle. IWU won the doubles point with strong wins by
Ilyas Kouchairi and
Ethan Gray at no. 1 doubles, 6-4, and the team of
Riley Fuqua and
Leif Clerc at no, 3 doubles, 6-3. After the 1-0 start, Bethel came back quickly to tie the match by winning no. 1 singles. The Wildcats took the lead 2-1 when
Valentino Trento won no. 5 singles. The final point for IWU came from an epic 3 set victory for
Ethan Gray at no. 2 singles. Bethel won the rest of the singles to take the 4-3 win.

- "We are a young team that needs to learn to win close matches," said Coach Gleghorn. "We had chances at two of the singles spots that we just didn't find a way to win. We will work to get better, and we have to play the way we are capable of or it is going to be a long season."
