MARION, Ind. - No
. 15 IWU loses season opener to No. 19 Marian University, 5-2. The Wildcats opened up the match winning the one doubles.
France Antezana and
Sofia Munoz dominated the visiting Knights, 6-1. After Marian won two doubles, it came down to the number three doubles team of
Katie Parr and
Meribel Jarna, who won 6-3. In singles,
Sofia Munoz made quick work of her opponent at number one winning 6-1, 6-1 to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead. After that it was all Marian, as they swept two through six singles. The women will be back at it on Thursday on the road at Bethel University.

- "Marian is a top-10 team this year and they played really well," said James Gleghorn, Head Tennis Coach. "That was a tough opener for three new players. We will get back at it tomorrow and continue to improve. We hope to see them again in the finals. We did a great job of playing for each other and honoring God in defeat. I am really proud of how they carried themselves."
