MTEN vs. Marian 9-3-24

Men's Tennis

MEN'S TENNIS LOSES OPENER TO NO. 24 MARIAN

MARION, Ind. - Marian University came out and played like a top 20 team today, defeating the Wildcats. IWU lost at one and two doubles to lose the doubles point. In single, senior Ethan Gray battled through and won a tight third set match 10-6 in the super tiebreaker at #2 singles, which ended up being the only point of the day for IWU. The Wildcats are back in action on Thursday at Bethel University and look to even the record at 1-1.

GLEGHORN PERSPECTIVE

  • "Marian is a tough team and they were better than us today," said James Gleghorn, Head Tennis Coach. "We are a young team that starts four sophomores and a freshman. We are still learning how to win and what our identity is as a team. We will get there!"
  • Coach Gleghorn on Senior Ethan Gray, "Ethan Gray played like a senior and captain out there today. He was phenomenal in singles!"
