NO. 7 VOLLEYBALL EARNS ANOTHER SWEEP AGAINST USF

MARION, IND. - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan continued their dominant stretch of play, earning their fifth straight sweep and winning 18th consecutive sets. The Wildcats took down the University of Saint Francis 3-0 while not allowing the Cougars to score more than 11 points all night. It was the second straight match in which the Wildcats held their opponent to a negative attack percentage, holding Saint Francis to -0.095 on their attacks.

  • IWU set the tone early, forcing a Cougar timeout with a 10-3 run to open set one. Both teams put runs together in the middle of the set, but a 6-0 run sealed the 25-11 victory for Indiana Wesleyan.
  • The Wildcats were even more dominant in set two, going up 18-5 before USF used their first timeout. IWU would win the set 25-10.
  • The Cougars battled early in set three, trailing by only two points at 7-5. However, IWU found their groove and outscored Saint Francis 18-6 the rest of the way.
  • Eva Joldersma turned in an efficient night with 11 kills on a .476 attack percentage.
  • Abbigail Porter tallied 3 service aces.
  • Marissa Mullins was dominant in the middle with 7 blocks.
  • Cadee Notter had a team high 10 digs.
  • Porter posted 31 assists.

  • "We played a solid match tonight to get the victory in three sets," said Senior Martina Demarchi. "We started each set very strong, service pressure was really good, and we were able to stay in system to run a great offense against a very big block. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us!"
