MARION, Ind. – The No. 14 Indiana Wesleyan softball team posted a pair of run-rule victories over IUPUC Friday afternoon by scores of 21-1 and 10-2.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• IWU scored early and often in the opener, plating six runs in the first, eight in the second, one in the third and six in the fourth for the 21-1 lead.
• Kamryn Buck led the way with three hits while driving in two and scoring twice. Morgan Yeater, Chloe Poe, Abby Harvey and Zoe Fountain all had two hits.
• Yeater and Poe each drove in three while Harvey, Brylee Bilger and Sara Ruble each drove in two. Buck, Yeater, Harvey, Fountain and Bilger crossed home twice.
• Buck, Sadie Harding and Abby Harvey had doubles while Poe notched a triple. Bilger blasted a home run in the win.
• Alyssa Wagner worked three frames and registered three strikeouts. She gave up two hits and walked one while facing 13 batters.
• Makenna Waddell worked two innings and had a strikeout. She faced eight batters in the victory.  

 

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Trailing 2-0 in the third, IWU sliced the deficit to just one. Becca Wyatt singled and swiped second as well as third. An error allowed her to race home to make it 2-1.
• The Wildcats took the lead in the fourth frame and never looked back. Bilger walked, moved to third on Buck's single and scored on Harvey's double. Maddie Martin's single plated Buck for a 3-2 edge. Up 4-2, Wyatt blasted a two-run homer for a 6-2 advantage.
• In the sixth, Wyatt got things going with a single before stealing second base. Courtney Thomas doubled home Wyatt. Amanda Cope came in as a pinch hitter and blasted a two-run shot. Buck ended the game with a walk-off single, driving in Arie Hackett, who had entered as a pinch runner for Bilger.
• For the game, Buck and Wyatt had three hits apiece. Bilger and Martin notched two hits each. Wyatt and Cope both drove in two while Wyatt scored three times.
• In the circle, Emma Etter-Cox went the distance to get the win. She struck out four and gave up two runs on six hits while throwing 101 pitches.
