MARION, Ind. - No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball moved to 12-0 after winning 69-59 against Spring Arbor. Brea Garber, reigning Crossroads Defensive Player of the Week, records 6 blocks and Taylor Folkema adds 5 more as the team breaks the IWU single game record for blocks in a game! The previous high was 12 also against Spring Arbor in 2017.

WHAT HAPPENED

• IWU finished the first quarter down 16-12. Folkema led the team with 6 points.
• The Wildcats fought back hard and outscored the Cougars 23-8 in the second quarter. IWU shot 47% while holding SAU to only 13% on 2-16 shooting.
• The third quarter ended with a tied score of 44 as SAU retaliated with a strong defensive effort. Nelson scored 12 of the Cougars 20 points in the quarter.
• Lilli Frasure and Jade Nutley both score 8 points in the fourth to spur IWU to shoot 60% in the quarter and finish with a 69-59 score.

NOTABLE NUMBERS

• 14: IWU sets the single game record of blocks in a single game with 14.
• 20: The Wildcats scored 20 points of turnovers while SAU only scored 6.
• 39: The red and gray won the rebounding battle grabbing 39 compared to 33.
