MARION, Ind. - No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan Women's basketball got the season started on the right foot with a 48 point victory over IUK on Saturday. The Wildcats opened the game by outscoring the visitors 30-2 in first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

WHAT HAPPENED

• The Wildcats scored the first 9 points of the game before the Cougars could fin the bottom of the net. That would be the last time IUK scored in the first quarter as IWU ended the frame on a 21-0 run.
• The red and gray built upon their 28 point lead in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 28-11 for a 58-13 halftime lead.
• IUK stopped the bleeding in the third quarter with both teams scoring 19 in the third. IWU shot 5-22 in the frame and 4-16 from beyond the arc.
• The home team added 3 points to their lead in the 4th quarter going 8-18 from the field and reaching the century mark on a pair of free throws from Koryn Greiwe with 5 seconds left.
