NO. 16 VOLLEYBALL TAKES DOWN TWO MORE TOP-25 TEAMS

COLUMBIA, MO. - No. 16 Indiana Wesleyan volleyball stayed hot to start the 2023 season, picking up two more Top-25 victories on Saturday. In their first match, IWU swept No. 22 Ottawa University before picking up their fourth Top-25 win to begin the season in a 3-1 victory over No. 14 Columbia College. The Wildcats have already matched their ranked win total from 2022.

  • IWU jumped on top early in set one, taking a 13-5 lead before winning 25-12.
  • Set two was back and forth until The Wildcats scored the final 8 points of the set to take the 25-14 win.
  • A 4-0 run in the middle of set 3 gave IWU enough separation to take the sweep 25-19.
  • Eva Joldersma totaled 15 kills to lead the team.
  • Abbigail Porter tallied 3 aces to go with 41 assists.
  • Cadee Notter had a team best 10 digs.

MATCH TWO VITALS

 

  • IWU took momentum in the first set with a 10-4 run to take an 18-10 lead. They scored the final 4 points of the set to win 25-14.
  • The Wildcats dropped their first set of the season as Columbia College used an 18-7 run to end set two, winning 25-16.
  • IWU got back on track in set three using an 11-3 run to take the set 25-16.
  • It was all Indiana Wesleyan in set four as the Wildcats had a 10-0 run on their way to a 25-10 victory.
  • Eva Joldersma had 13 kills to lead the team  Marissa Mullins added 12 kills.
  • Marta Zambetti posted a career high 6 blocks.
  • Abbigail Porter tallied 33 assists.
  • Cadee Notter recorded 12 digs.
