BASEBALL SPLITS SERIES WITH SPRING ARBOR

MARION, IND. -  Indiana Wesleyan baseball wrapped up their regular season on Friday night, earning a series split with Spring Arbor. The Wildcats finish their regular season with a record of 32-19-1 (26-10) and now prepare for the Crossroads League Tournament next week.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • After Spring Arbor put 2 runs on the board in the top of the 1st, Lucas Goodin scored on a Nick Wiley RBI to make the score 2-1.
  • SAU added another run in the second, but the Wildcats responded with 1 run in the 2nd and 6 in the 3rd to take a 8-3 lead.
  • The Cougars cut in to the lead with 3 runs, but a 2 run homer from Jeff Morton gave Indiana Wesleyan enough separation to hang on for a 10-8 victory.
  • 4 pitchers saw time on the mound for IWU, combining for 8 strikeouts, 7 hits, and 7 earned runs.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
 

 
  • The Cougars got on the board first with 2 runs in the 1st and 2 in the 3rd.
  • Nick Wiley scored on a Jeff Morton single and Colby Jenkins brought Morton and Jake Thompson across to cut the deficit to 1. IWU was unable to score the tying run and fell 4-3.
  • Brock Buckley pitched 4 innings and posted 4 strikeouts, 5 hits, and 3 earned runs.
