MARION, IND. -  Indiana Wesleyan baseball split their first doubleheader in a series with visiting Spring Arbor. Neither team could find separation in game one, as the teams battled for 13 innings before Spring Arbor found a run in the top of the 13th and the Wildcats were unable to answer. IWU shut out the Cougars in game two, winning 4-0.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• The teams traded runs in the 2nd inning with Nick Wiley scoring for the Wildcats.
• IWU added 2 runs in the 3rd with Luke Roman and MJ Stavola crossing home, giving IWU a 3-2 advantage.
• With 2 runs in the 6th SAU regained the lead 4-3. 
• Jake Thompson brought Quinn Willard across in the 8th to tie the game.
• Spring Arbor found the game winning run in the 13th inning.
• Hunter Hoffman was the pitcher of record going 6 innings and recording 6 strikeouts, 4 hits, and 1 run.

 

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Nick Wiley scored on a Jeff Morton single in the 4th and Quinn Willard scored on a Caleb Engelsman sac fly.
• Willard scored again in the 6th this time on a Colby Jenkins single and another Engelsman sac fly brought Colin Yoder home to give IWU a 4-0 lead.
• Will Eldridge went 5 innings on the mound, tallying 8 strikeouts, 1 hits, and 0 runs.
