FOURTH QUARTER SURGE PROPELS WBB TO NAIA ROUND OF 16

MARION, Ind. – No. 1-seeded Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball were in Luckey Arena for the final time this season on Wednesday night for their Second Round matchup of the NAIA National Championship against the No. 9-seed Georgetown College. The Wildcats used a 26-7 fourth quarter to pull away for a 88-70 win and earn a berth in the Round of 16 for the third-straight year.

  • Georgetown held the physical advantage early and took a 24-20 lead after 10 minutes of play.
  • Both teams traded blows, shooting over 60% from the field, for an even second quarter as Georgetown maintained a four-point lead at halftime.
  • Neither team gave an inch in the 3rd with IWU cutting the deficit to 63-62.
  • The game was won in the final 10 minutes as the Wildcats used a 26-7 fourth quarter to pull away and secure the victory.
