SIOUX CITY, IA - No. 1-seed Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball took the court in the Tyson Event Center on Tuesday afternoon against the No. 4-seed Briar Cliff in the Round of 16 of the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship presented by Ballogy. Jade Nutley finished with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Wildcats over the Chargers, 88-77.

WHAT HAPPENED



 

  • Briar Cliff shot 4-7 from deep at 60% from the floor in the first quarter to take an early 23-19 lead.
  • IWU matched an 11-2 run by BC with a 11-3 run of their own in the 2nd quarter to make it 38-36 at halftime. 
  • Back to back buckets from Lilli Frasure to start the 3rd quarter gave the Wildcats their first lead of the game. The quarter consisted of 5 lead changes and 3 ties with Indiana Wesleyan holding on to a 53-50 lead heading into the final ten minutes.
  • IWU's offense exploded for 35 points in the 4th quarter after shooting 14-18 from the free-throw line to close out the game.
