NO. 6 SOFTBALL SPLITS TWINBILL WITH GOSHEN

MARION, Ind. - No. 6 Indiana Wesleyan softball continued their homestand on Tuesday evening with a Crossroads League twinbill against Goshen College. The Wildcats shut out the Maple Leafs 8-0 in six innings behind a stellar performance from Alyssa Wagner in the circle. IWU dropped the second game 7-2 after falling behind early and being unable to rally.

  • Both Courtney Thomas and Amanda Cope sprinted around the bases for a triple.
  • Julianne Bell went 2-3 with two RBI's, a stolen base, and a run scored.
  • Elisha Koshy finished with two hits, an RBI, and a run scored.
  • Alyssa Wagner bounced back from her 200+ pitch outing last night to throw six strikeouts in five innings and earn her 9th win of the year.

  • Goshen went up 3-0 in the 1st inning, but IWU was unable to string together enough hits to mount a comeback.
  • The Wildcats cut the deficit to 3-2 in the 3rd, but Goshen tacked on four more runs to extend their lead.
  • Indiana Wesleyan surrendered 14 hits to the Maple Leafs, the highest of an opponent this season.
  • Zoe Fountain went 2-2, while adding another stolen base to her perfect 17-17 percentage.
