NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan men's tennis lost a tough match on Friday night to #16 Holy Cross at the Eck Center at Notre Dame 4-2. The Wildcats played a strong team and acquitted themselves well against the competition. IWU's #6 ranked doubles team of Steiner and Thixton won their doubles match, but they were the only ones to win. Down 1-0 after the doubles, the men fought back with
Ethan Gray winning at #4 to even the match at one apiece. IWU lost at #6 singles and won at #5 singles to deadlock the match again 2-2. Holy Cross won two tough 3 setters to close out the match.
Isaac Steiner was ahead of ATP-ranked and NAIA #4 Perry Gregg when the match was won by Holy Cross.

- "The men played really well today," said James Gleghorn, Head Tennis Coach. "They had a tough match against a strong team and played their best. Really proud of the effort. I want to acknowledge Trey and Isaac for their continued success in doubles, and Isaac for his great play against the #4 player in the country. We lost a couple of tough three setters, and it wasn't enough to have Trey and Ethan win their singles convincingly."
