INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Baseball lost for the first time in Crossroads League play on Saturday, dropping a pair to Marian.
Brennan Morehead was a bright spot in game one for the Wildcats, striking out 7 batters in only 2.2 innings. IWU battled back from a 3-1 deficit in game two, taking a 4-3 lead in the final inning but were unable to hold on, falling 7-4.

- IWU was unable to get their bats going in game one as Marian held the Wildcats to only 4 hits.
- MJ Stavola recorded 2 stolen bases and Lucas Goodin recorded 1.
- Will Eldridge got the start on the mound pitching 5.1 innings. Eldridge recorded 5 strikeouts, 6 hits, and 3 earned runs.
- Brennan Morehead replaced Eldridge in the 6th inning and tallied 7 strikeouts, 3 hits, and 1 earned run through 2.2 innings.
- MJ Stavola scored on a sac fly from Evan Salmon, giving IWU a 1-0 lead in the 1st inning.
- Marian added runs in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to build a 3-1 lead.
- Back to back walks by the Knights with bases loaded scored Caleb Engelsman and Colby Jenkins to even the score. Ty Mathews brought home Quinn Willard on a sac fly to give the Wildcats a 4-3 lead heading to the bottom of the final inning.
- After IWU picked up outs on the first two batters of the inning, the Knights loaded the bases before hitting a walk off grand slam to deny the Wildcat comeback.
- The Wildcats return home to face IUPUC at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15th.
