LEBANON, TN. - The Indiana Wesleyan University baseball team defeated Cumberland University 11-7 on Friday, overcoming a 7-3 deficit in the victory. Lucas Goodin and Nick Wiley had strong showings at the plate, Goodin posted a season high 4 hits and Wiley recorded a homerun for the second straight game.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

 

 

• Cumberland took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st inning off a three run homerun.
• IWU pulled within one run off a Lucas Goodin single in the 2nd inning, before Cumberland extended their lead to 7-3 through the 3rd and 4th innings.
• Nick Wiley recorded a homerun in the second straight game, scoring 2 runs to pull IWU within 2.
• IWU grabbed a 3 run lead in the eighth inning off of RBIs from Goodin, Jeff Morton, Colby Jenkins, and Bryce Ginder.
• Drue Young got the start on the mound, pitching 4 innings and recording 6 strikeouts, 4 walks, 7 hits and 7 earned runs.
• Brennan Morehead earned the win in relief, fanning 1 batter, and giving up no hits or runs across 2.1 innings.
