MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan women's tennis were crowned Crossroads League Tournament Champions for the 32nd consecutive year and qualified for the NAIA National Championships in May. The Wildcats beat No. 23 Marian University, 4-2, on Monday evening at the Sutter Tennis Center.
Sofia Munoz and
France Antezana quickly won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and
Breann Barger and
Katie Parr won 6-2 to clinch the doubles point.
In singles, Munoz and Antezana built on their doubles momentum to win 6-4, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-0 respectively. With a 3-0 lead, the Wildcats needed to find one more point for the win. Barger and
Ellie Snider were both up 5-2 and looking to get the clinching point. Snider finished first and clinched the trip to the NAIA National Championships for the Wildcats with her 6-2, 6-3 win.
