NO. 9 WOMEN’S SOCCER SECURES TENTH WIN AGAINST BETHEL

MARION, Ind. - No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan women's soccer remained triumphant at home with a win against Bethel University on Wednesday night. The first goal from the Wildcats struck in the 44th minute with a corner kick finish from junior Taylor Archbold, assisted by junior Elisha Strawser. After a close first half ending at 1-0, the Wildcats finished strong with a deep free kick from senior Mallory Krueger in the 57th minute and a wonderfully worked attack to find senior Courtney Cockrum in the 61st minute. The final whistle saw the game with a final score of 3-0. IWU improve to 4-0-1 in Crossroads League play and are tied for 1st in the standings. They will hit the road to face rival Taylor University on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

  • After a beautiful display of passing from the team, Courtney Cockrum slotted a goal in the bottom right corner.
  • Ashley Townsend recorded her first assist of the year on the final goal of the night.

  • "Tonight's game was the perfect example of a full team effort, and it showed in the score line" said Sydney Brown. "My favorite thing is to see different players score and create chances in games like this. I'm so proud of my teammates for staying mentally tough and finding ways to put the ball in the back of the net!"
