CAREER-HIGH FOR FRASURE AS WILDCATS WEATHER THE RED STORM IN TOP-15 SHOWDOWN

RIO GRANDE, Ohio - No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball rang in the new year on Monday afternoon with a Top-15 showdown on the road against No. 12 Rio Grande. A career-high 32 points from Lilli Frasure combined with 22 points from Jade Nutley accounted from 66% of IWU's points as they earned their second Top-15 win of the season, 81-77, over the Red Storm.

 WHAT HAPPENED


 

  • The Red Storm came out aggressive, shooting 42% in the first quarter and forcing the Wildcats into 7 turnovers to take an early 21-15 lead.
  • Eight points from Jade Nutley in the 2nd quarter, including a perfect 4-4 from the free-throw line, helped the Wildcats cut the deficit to 37-32 heading into halftime.
  • The offense found a spark in the 3rd, shooting 3-8 from three, but the Wildcats were not able to retake the lead heading into the final quarter.
  • Lilli Frasure put the team on her back, scoring 17 of her 32 points in the 4th quarter.
  • Rio Grande was held scoreless for their final three possessions as the Wildcat's held on for the 81-77 win.

  • 32 - Frasure's 32 points are the most by a Wildcat since Anne Secrest on March 19. 2021.
  • 17 - IWU's 17 made free-throws ties their highest this season.
