No. 13 WOMEN'S SOCCER OPENS SEASON WITH 8-0 VICTORY

MARION, IND. - No. 13 Women's Soccer opened up their 2022 season at home Saturday, seeing seven different individuals netting goals in an 8-0 victory over Lawrence Tech.

 WHAT HAPPENED


 

  • It took just 90 seconds for IWU to net their first goal, with Jackie Norris teaming up with Sarah Foulk, for Foulk's sixteenth career game. It's the seventh time the duo has been a part of a goal/assist combo for IWU. 
  • Foulk wouldn't stop there, netting her second goal of the game just two minutes later, giving the red and gray a quick 2-0 lead. 
  • Freshman duo Abby Drahnak and Mackenzie Minney teamed up for some career firsts in the 76th minute, with Minney assisting Drahnak for IWU's eighth goal of the match.
  • Eight goals are the second most netted in a match in the Seiffert era. IWU netted 12 goals in 2019 in a 12-0 win over IU South Bend (Ind.) on September 11, 2019. 
  • Indiana Wesleyan landed 20 shots on frame while Lawrence Tech mustered four.

    IWU beat TIU 2-0 last year at home, with Jackie Norris and Lauren Turner netting goals for the Wildcats.
