WEHRLE'S WALK-OFF SETS NEW INDIVIDUAL CAREER HOME RUN RECORD

WESTFIELD, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan softball defeated Taylor University in thrilling fashion Wednesday afternoon. In extra innings in the eighth, Miranda Wehrle sent one over the center field fence to earn a 2-1 win over the Trojans. This home run sets a new school record for an individual's career home runs.

 GAME HIGHLIGHTS


 

  • Both teams didn't score until the sixth inning. A Wehrle double scored Jennah Yost to tie the game 1-1. Following the double, Wehrle connected on a bomb sending in the walk off run winning 2-1.
  • Wildcats outhit Trojans 7-6. Wehrle and Yost each had two hits.
  • Wehrle collected both Wildcat RBIs.
  • Alyssa Wagner pitched a complete game striking out seven in eight innings.

  • Wildcats advance in the winner's bracket to face two-seeded Marian Knights tomorrow at 2pm. Games will be played at Marian University.
