BUCK AND MILLER WALK-OFFS CLAIMS SOFTBALL VICTORIES ON SENIOR DAY

MARION, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan softball swept Huntington University on Senior Day. A Kamryn Buck walk off homer in game one gave the Wildcats a 9-0 win in 5 innings in game one followed by a Hannah Miller walk off single in game two to win 9-1 in six innings.  Game one was highlighted by the first no hitter throw by Alyssa Wagner this season.  Wildcats continue to sit atop the Crossroads League with one week left of the regular season.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS


 
  • Wildcats started hot batting in five runs in the first inning.
  • Alyssa Wagner pitched a no hitter and struck out eight.
  • IWU posted nine hits featuring two from Chloe Tragesser, Miranda Wehrle, and Buck.
  • Buck hit a home run off the scoreboard to give Wildcats the walk off win in five innings.
  • Buck led with three RBIs followed by Wehrle with two.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS


 

  • Foresters struck early getting their lone run in during the first inning.
  • Wildcats connected on the plate posting 11 hits to Huntington's five. Wehrle led the offense with three hits followed by Tragesser with two.
  • Hannah Miller's single in the bottom of the sixth scoring Becca Wyatt gave the Wildcats a second walk off of the day finishing the game in six innings.
  • Makenna Pace and Tragesser each posted two of the team's eight RBIs.
  • Reagan Radke held down the mound striking out six in five innings.
