WILDCATS CONTINUE LEADING THE CONFERENCE IN SWEEP OF BETHEL

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan softball swept Bethel University 11-0 in game one and 4-1 in game two. Wildcats extend their win streak over the Pilots to 25 straight games. Earlier this season, IWU defeated Bethel 9-2 and 10-0.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS


 
  • Wildcats got hot bats early collecting three runs in the first inning off a Chloe Tragesser double, Trinity Medina single, and a Kamryn Buck ground out sending home Miranda Wehrle.
  • IWU continued to connect at bat posting 13 hits to a lone Pilot hit.
  • Wehrle shined in the game with four hits, four runs, and four RBIs including a walk off grand slam.
  • Medina added three RBIs, Kamryn Buck two, and Tragesser added one.
  • Alyssa Wagner struck out 10 in six innings, only giving up one hit and three walks.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS


 

  • Pilots got the first run on the board in the second inning before Wildcats responded with a run of their own in the third. Wildcats ran in two in the fifth and one in the sixth to round out the scoring.
  • Elisa Koshy hit a homer to center field to get the Wildcats into the scoring column.
  • Two sac flies and a Pilot error scored the other three runs.
  • Wildcats connect on seven hits to Pilots three. Julianne Bell led the way with two.
  • Alayna Thomas pitched a complete game striking out five.

  • IWU travels to Indianapolis, Indiana tomorrow, April 16, for a huge Crossroads League matchup. Wildcats will face No. 18 Marian University Knights with a double header starting at 1pm.
