Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan defeated No. 18 Marian University in double header action in Indianapolis, Indiana this afternoon. Wildcats came from behind in both games defeating the Knights 4-3 in game one and 17-8 in game two. IWU set a season record posting 21 hits in game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

• A scoreless first three innings of play, the Knights connected on a homer to score three in the fifth inning. A big sixth inning from the Wildcats rounded out the scoring for the game.
• Miranda Wehrle, Julianne Bell, and Makenna Pace all connected on singles in the sixth inning scoring four runs.
• Wildcats outhit the Knights 8-3.
• Alyssa Wagner pitched a complete game striking out eight.

  

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

• Knights scored big in the first inning going up 5-0 but two Wildcat walks and three Wildcat singles saw IWU take the lead in the top of the second inning 6-5.
• Marian grabbed a 8-6 lead in the third inning. Wildcats tied up the game on a Wehrle single and an Elisa Koshy walk 8-8 in the fourth. Wildcats responded with the next nine runs unanswered.
• Wehrle, Becca Wyatt, and Kamryn Buck led the Wildcat offense with four hits apiece. Wildcats set a new season record connecting on 21 hits.
• Posting 17 Wildcat RBIs, Wehrle led with six followed by Bell with four.

  

NEXT TIME OUT

 

• Wildcats head to Spring Arbor University on Tuesday, April 19 to continue their race to the Crossroads League Regular Season title.  Double header starts at 4pm.
