WILDCATS DROP GAME ONE, DOMINATE GAME TWO

GOSHEN, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan softball dropped game one against Goshen College with a 9-6 decision before a dominating 20-3 decision in game two. Wildcats reached a new season high batting in 20 runs for the first time since March 20, 2021 in a matchup with Bethel University.

  • Game two had a different script for the Wildcats starting with Miranda Wehrle getting the Wildcats on the board in the first inning scoring on a wild pitch.
  • In the second inning a Wehrle grand slam put the Wildcats up five.
  • Wildcats poured in nine runs in the third inning alone highlighted by a Kamryn Buck homer to left center sending in three runs.
  • Hot at the plate, IWU connected on 17 hits to Goshen's five.
  • Wildcats posted a season best 19 RBIs.
  • Alyssa Wagner and Alayna Thomas split time on the mound striking out eight.
