WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan split a doubleheader with Grace College on Tuesday. A four-run 9th inning proved to be the difference in game one as the Wildcats took it 9-7. The Wildcats weren't able to keep the momentum going, falling in game two 5-3.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

 

• Denver Blinn and Bryce Ginder led the way for the Wildcats offensively, they both had three hits in the game and it was Blinn's 9th inning home run that gave the Wildcats some much needed insurance. 
• Jeff Morton and Zach Rabe both had two hits in the contest. That puts Rabe at nine multi-hit games this season. 
• Evan Salmon and Lucas Goodin both had doubles in the game, Salmon is second on the team with nine doubles this season. 
• Jake Engelkes pitched four and one-third innings in relief, he gave up no earned runs and struck out three. 

 

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS

 

• Both teams combined for seven hits in game two, four from Grace, and three from IWU. 
• The Wildcat's hits came from Colby Jenkins, Evan Salmon, and Luke Roman. 
• Lucas Goodin reached base every time he stepped to the plate, drawing four walks. 
• Drue Young threw four innings, he gave up no earned runs and struck out four. 

  

CONTINUING THE SERIES

 

• IWU will head back home to take on Thomas More University on Wednesday, first pitch is set for 3:00 p.m. The series with Grace will resume on April 4th with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
