SOFTBALL SWEEPS GOSHEN

MARION, Ind. - No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan softball defeated Goshen at home in a double header defeating the Maple Leafs 3-2 in game one and 9-1 in game two. Wildcats move to 3-1 in Crossroads League action.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS


 
  • Makenna Pace hit a double to score Reagan Radke in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Wildcats the win.
  • All other scoring occurred in the fourth inning. Goshen hit a homer with another teammate on base to score two before Wildcats responded with two runs of their own.
  • Both teams combined for a total of nine hits.
  • Alyssa Wagner held down the mound for seven innings striking out seven in 24 at bats.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS


 

  • Goshen got on the board early in the first inning before Wildcats responded with nine runs in the next five innings of play.
  • Wildcats outhit Goshen 13-2. Miranda Wehrle led with three hits in three at bats.
  • Wehrle, Sadie Harding, and Makenna Waddell each collected two RBIs in route of the team's eight.
  • Jennah Yost and Chloe Tragesser each added two runs.
  • Emma Etter-Cox struck out five in four innings of play.
