WILLIAMSBURG, KY. - Two Wildcat defenders were able to find the back of the net in the first half Thursday, leading No. 14 Women's Soccer to a 3-0 victory over No. 21 John Brown in the first round of the 2022 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. Hope Stacker stood tall, collecting ten saves in the match, to secure the 12th shutout of the season for IWU.

WHAT HAPPENED

• Turner gave Indiana Wesleyan the early lead, netting her 16th career goal and first NAIA National Tournament goal in the 21st minute. 
• Courtney Cockrum gave IWU some added insurance seven minutes after the Turner goal, good for her second career goal. It's just the third career NAIA postseason start for the Junior who has 16 total career starts. 
• Mallory Krueger's goal in the 63rd minute, came from a double assist by Sydney Brown and Abbey Drahnak. It's IWU's first double assist of the season. 

NOTABLE NUMBERS

• 8: Both teams were tied with eight shots heading into the second half. 
• 19: The Wildcats defended 19 shots by John Brown University.
• 12: The Wildcat's defense has collected twelve shutouts on the year.

LOOKING FORWARD
