RICHMOND, Ind. - No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University finished their non-conference slate with a 73-63 win over IU-East.

WHAT HAPPENED

 

• First quarter saw back and forth action while the Wildcats forced nine Red Wolves turnovers and recorded five steals leading 19-17 at the end of the quarter.
• Wildcats started off on a hot 8-2 run in the second quarter.  Red Wolves connected on back-to-back threes followed by an and-one play to retake the lead.  Baylie VanDyke connected on a three just before half as IWU trailed 30-34 at the break.
• Five minutes into the second half, Klair Merrell hit one from deep tying the score 39-39.  Lili Frasure followed with a steal and layup for the Wildcats to take the lead 41-39.
• IWU hung onto the lead the rest of the game with the Red Wolves fighting within one point on multiple occasions.  With a six-point lead with 1:50 remaining in the contest, IWU forced a shot clock violation which switched momentum solely to the Wildcats leading to a 73-63 finish.
