@IWUHOOPS CLINCHES CROSSROADS LEAGUE REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP

MARION, Ind. - No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball surged in the second half Saturday, handing Grace College a 108-81 revenge loss. IWU's only blemish this season came to Grace on January 6th but a Maxwell/Mangas second half that featured just one miss shot carried IWU over the Lancers, good for the Wildcats 12th 100-point game of the season and their third straight. 


The night was capped off with Indiana Wesleyan clinching the Crossroads League Regular Season Championship with two games to go. It's the Wildcats 12th Regular Season Championship under Tonagel.

WHAT WENT DOWN
  • A 12-6 Grace run kicked off the game, with GC shooting 6-of-9. Half their points came from freshman Elijah Malone, who had 20 in the first game against IWU. IWU evened the score at 16-16 with 12:39 to go in the first half, with Dylan Alderson earning his first points of the game.
  • At the half, IWU led by two points, 40-38. Seth Maxwell led IWU with ten, while Jake Wadding led Grace with ten. The Wildcats were outrebounded 21-16, while IWU took nine free throws compared to GC's four in the first half. 
  • GC finished the game out rebounding the Wildcats, just their sixth time this season they have been out-rebounded. 
  • Mangas was perfect in the second half, shooting 11-for-11 from the field. Mangas mustered just eight points in the first half but finished with 38.
