MEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS GRENADIERS FOR LARGEST WIN OF THE SEASON

MARION, Ind. - No. 9 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball eclipsed the 100 point mark for the first time this season, downing U Southeast 109-73. The 36-point win is the largest of the season for the Wildcats. 


INSIDE THE GAME
  • IWU's ten point lead after nine minutes came from a spark on the Wildcat bench. IU Southeast mustered two points from their bench, and Griffin Kliewer accounted for half of them. 
  • The Wildcats pushed their lead to 13 after six, shooting 7-of-10 from deep for 70%. Their largest lead of the game 17, came with 4:38 left in the first 20 minutes of play.
  • 11 different Wildcats made an appearance in the first half, with nine scoring a point and eight grabbing a rebound. 
  • Seth Maxwell led all Wildcat scorers with nine points and nine rebounds in the first half. Maxwell would head to the bench with 6:35 left in the contest, posting a double-double with 26 points and ten rebounds. 
  • As a squad, they shot 51% from the floor and 57% from deep, while turning the ball over just six-time in the first half. They outrebounded IU Southeast 24-15 while also scoring 20 second-chance points, ten more than IUSE. Half of IWU's second-chance points came from IUSE turnovers. 
  • Lincoln Hale netted IWU's 100th point with 3:29 left, the first time this season the Wildcats have eclipsed the 100 point mark.
  • Crowd favorite Kyle Sanders netted his first carrer points with a long ball in the second half. The freshman hales from Kokomo, Ind. and is also a member of the men's golf team.
