FOULK LIFTS NO. 10 WOMEN'S SOCCER OVER TROJANS IN OVERTIME

UPLAND, Ind. - It was a Grant County-themed night as No. 10 Indiana Wesleyan battled Grant County foe Taylor University. The Wildcats would score the first and last goal of the night but needed extra time to top the Trojans. Grant County native Sarah Foulk would net the game-winner coming with 16-seconds left in the first overtime period. 


IWU moves to 8-2 on the season and 3-0 in League play. Indiana Wesleyan has won six straight matches and sits with Spring Arbor for a tie for first place in the League standings. 




INSIDE THE BOX
  • Tonight's win is the first for the Wildcats on the road since 2013 when they won 2-1.
  • Sydney Brown picked up her ninth assist of the season. She has collected one in all but two matches this season. 
  • The red and gray have found the back of the net on 40 occasions this year, eight more than 2020 and good for Top-15 in the NAIA this season. Their 42 assists on 40 goals is good for third-most in the NAIA. Since 2007, IWU has only had eight seasons with 40 or more assists.




SEIFFERT PERSPECTIVE
  • "Tonight was definitely one where the fans got their money's worth. We didn't quite play our best, but the girls found a way to grit out a great result on the road. We are really proud of the effort given tonight but there are for sure areas that we need to continue to develop and grow in. So we look forward to having a full week to practice and get better on the training grounds. But we will enjoy this one tonight."

  • IWU returns to the pitch on Saturday, when they head to Mount Vernon Nazarene.
