No. 1 @IWUHOOPS TOPS FIFTH TOP-25 TEAM, CLAIMS 20TH WIN OF THE SEASON

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan men's basketball collected their fifth Top-25 win Monday, dropping League foe the University of Saint Francis, 81-72. IWU's five Top-25 wins are more than any of club in the NAIA this season. 


The Wildcats move to 20-1 on the season, their 15th straight season with at least 20 wins.

WHAT WENT DOWN
  • The red and gray took the lead at the 10-minute mark in the second half, their first lead since the 6:42 mark in the first half. 
  • IWU would use a 22-7 run over the next five minutes, building an 11-point IWU lead with five to go.
  • Mangas put IWU up 13 with 90 seconds left, scoring his 33rd point of the game. It was his 12th point of the contest from deep.
  • Mangas is 18-of-19 from the line in his last two games. 


TONAGEL PERSPECTIVE
  • It was the heart of this team that got this win. We came out flat like it was an open gym not a conference game on the road, and that's what I told them at the half. 
  • The key to this team is when we play with heart, when we dig down deep and when we play with emotion, we're a different team.

  • Indiana Wesleyan hosts No. 8 Marian University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tipoff.
