No. 23 @IWU_WBB WINS SEVENTH STRAIGHT IN COMEBACK FASHION

MARION, Ind. - No. 23 Indiana Wesleyan women's basketball won their seventh straight Saturday, 68-67, over Mount Vernon Nazarene University. The Wildcats trailed by as much as 14, but a big third quarter and a 90% shooting percentage from the free-throw line gave IWU the win in comeback fashion.

WHAT WENT DOWN
  • MVNU stood tall in the first half, grabbing 23 rebounds, ten more than IWU. Eight came on the offensive side while IWU mustered two offensive rebounds.
  • Totaling just ten points in the first quarter, Mt. Vernon Nazarene jumped out to a 14-point lead. The Wildcats would win the second quarter by five points, sitting just eight points behind at half. 
  • Indiana Wesleyan used a 12-3 run in the third quarter, cutting MVNU's lead to three after 30 minutes of play.
  • IWU coughed it up just four times through three quarters of play, while the Cougars totaled 13 turnovers. IWU finished with eight turnovers, their lowest since February 8th, 2020, against Goshen when they had eight as well.
