MEN'S TENNIS EDGES PAST NO. 16 SAN DIEGO CHRISTIAN

SURPRISE, Ariz. – No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan men's tennis edged past top-20 opponent No. 16 San Diego Christian on Tuesday. After winning the doubles point the Wildcats split the singles points for a final score of 4-3. It was the sixth victory of the season against top-25 opponents for the Wildcats. This victory pushed the Wildcats to 3-0 on their Spring Break trip and 25-1 on the season.

COACH SHIGLEY PERSPECTIVE

  • This was a big match versus a high ranked team. We knew it would have a National Tournament atmosphere and it did not disappoint. San Diego Christian has three guys ranked in the top fifteen players in that nation, so we knew it was going to be a difficult match for us.
  • The bottom of our lineup came through today and carried us to the win. Getting the doubles point was crucial. Eli and Mariano won a crucial match 7-6 to get us the lead heading into singles play.
