Box Score MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan women’s basketball turned up the heat Wednesday, holding No.11 Saint Francis to a season-low 33 points, which is 17 points lower than their previous season-low. This is the Wildcats second Top-25 win of the season.
51 total fouls were called in the contest, while all nine Wildcats who saw action scored.
INSIDE THE BOX
- IWU’s defense smothered the Cougars in the second quarter, allowing zero second-quarter points. USF shot 0-for-10 from the field while turning the ball over four times. USF ended the half scoring just 13 points while committing 12 turnovers. Seven of the Cougars 13 points came from the free-throw line.
- IWU built their lead in the paint in the first half, scoring 18 of their 32 points down low. IWU’s bench blitzed the Cougars scoring 17 points in the first half, led by Madison Davis with a team-high of eight points. Adrianna Trexler was second off the bench in scoring, adding four points and a team-best four rebounds.
- IWU held USF to just 16% shooting from the floor. The Cougars made just eight total shots in the contest while the Wildcats finished 21-of-45 from the floor.
CROSSROADS LEAGUE OUTLOOK
- IWU sits in fourth place, holding a two-game lead over fifth-place Huntington.
- Despite the win over USF tonight, the Wildcat still trail the second-place Cougars by one game.
- The Trojans of Taylor University and the Knights of Marian University currently sit in a tie for first place in the Crossroads League.

- Dayton Groninger sits just 63 points away from 1,000 career points.
- Groninger would become the 30th Wildcat in program history to achieve the milestone and the first since Nicole Ignasiak collected her 1,000th career point last season.
