Women's Basketball Announces Missions Trip to Dominican Republic

MARION, Ind. – The Indiana Wesleyan University Women's Basketball program will take part in an international missions trip this summer, traveling to the Dominican Republic from August 4–11, 2026, in partnership with GO Ministries.

A total of 27 members of the program, including student-athletes and staff, will participate in the trip, which is centered on service, ministry, and outreach through the game of basketball.

During their time in the Dominican Republic, the Wildcats will host basketball clinics, build relationships with local youth, and assist with community outreach initiatives alongside GO Ministries. The experience is designed to provide student-athletes with opportunities to grow in their faith while serving others in a meaningful and impactful way.

The program is currently working to raise $65,000 to support travel expenses and ensure all 27 members of the team can participate in the experience. Fundraising efforts are ongoing, with support coming from alumni, parents, and friends of the program.

"This mission trip our team takes to the Dominican Republic is hands down the best thing we do as a program!" said Head Coach Ethan Whaley. "It is a week full of life-giving work that has a transformational impact on everyone involved. We are so blessed and so looking forward to another opportunity to serve alongside GO Ministries."

Those interested in supporting the IWU Women's Basketball missions trip through prayer or financial contributions can find more information through the program's official channels or through the "Give" tab found on the IWU Wildcats Women's Basketball page, or by clicking HERE.
