Box Score MARION, Ind. – Indiana Wesleyan men’s basketball stayed hot Tuesday, defeating the Foresters of Huntington University 97-66. Tanner Rubio fueled the Wildcats scoring a career-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting. His previous high of 15 was achieved against Indiana Tech and Spring Arbor. For the second straight game, the Wildcats led by 20 heading into halftime.
Fourteen different Wildcats saw action in the contest, with 13 of them scoring.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Wildcats jumped out to an early 18-4 lead, shooting 8-of-11 from the field forcing a Huntington timeout. The Wildcats took a 20-point lead into halftime, leading 51-31.
- Indiana Wesleyan increased their lead to 30, scoring ten unanswered points to start the second half. HU scored just 11 total points in the first ten minutes of the second half.
- The Wildcats have scored 90 or more points in 12 games this season. When scoring at least 90, IWU is 11-1 this season.
- IWU owned the paint, scoring 52 points compared to HU’s 20. Bench points were much closer, with IWU scoring 33 and HU scoring 20.
- Indiana Wesleyan grabbed 11 offensive rebounds in the game, one shy of their season average of 12. The last time IWU averaged 12 or more rebounds a game during the season dates back to the 2011-12 season.
