COACH SHIGLEY SAYS…
“We dug ourselves into a huge hole being down 3-0 after doubles. We had 32 game points at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles that we did not convert. Playing a great team at the National Tournament, we have to finish off points and convert them into games. I love the fight and courage we displayed in singles. There was nobody giving up, we just fell a bit short. I felt like we were the better singles team and believe that Marissa and Lizzie would have won their matches, we just have to do a better job at doubles.”
“Overall, it was another outstanding season as we won 30 matches for the fourth season in a row. We are going to greatly miss our seniors, Alex Mella and Marissa Klein. They have given us talent, courage, and heart for the last four years. They are irreplaceable.”
