Volleyball Beats Colorado Christian to Advance to the NCCAA Title Game

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Indiana Wesleyan University quickly dispatched No. 3 Colorado Christian 3-0 in the NCCAA Volleyball National Championship Semifinals to set up a rematch with Oklahoma Baptist in the championship match. The Wildcats are one win away from their fourth NCCAA championship and first since 2010.

What Went Down

  • Indiana Wesleyan used a balance attack with six different players recording five or more kills.
  • Remy Bucknor (JR/Euless, Texas), Morgan Miller (SO/Goshen, Ind.), and Kylie Portera (JR/Lake in the Hills, Ill.) all record seven kills. Bianca Cifaldi (JR/Itasca, Ill.), Tay Thomas (SO/Suwanee, Ga.), and Kristin Predajna (SR/Fishers, Ind.) added five kills apiece.
  • Katey Holler (SR/Marion, Ohio) totaled 18 assists and 8 digs while Emily Workman (SO/Tinley Park, Ill.) chipped in 15 assists.
  • Banner Rodgers (SO/Carrollton, Texas) served four aces and the team had five overall. The four aces is tied for seventh most in a game in program history.
  • Ashlen Buck (JR/Brazil, Ind.) earned a match-best 12 digs and Banner Rodgers finished with 10.
  • Indiana Wesleyan blocked six Colorado Christian attack attempts. Remy Bucknor led the way with two solo blocks and one block assist.

Extra! Extra!

  • Indiana Wesleyan has three NCCAA national championships. They won them in 1985, 2000, and 2010.
  • Indiana Wesleyan and Oklahoma Baptist will meet a second time in two days at the NCCAA National Championship. OBU won a tight five set match in pool play on Friday and the two teams play on Saturday for the national title.
