MARION, Ind. -- Indiana Wesleyan University women’s tennis claimed another 9-0 victory on Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Bethel (Ind.) at the Sutter Tennis Center.
Indiana Wesleyan dropped just 15 games in the match to improve to 3-1 on the season and 2-1 in Crossroads League contests.
The No. 3-doubles tandem of Courtney Siepman (JR/Plainfield, Ind.) and Diane Jones (SR/Greenwood, Ind.) made quick work of their opponent in 8-0 fashion. The No. 1 team of Katie Wilson (JR/Middletown, Ind.) and Kim Mella (SR/Libertyville, Ill.) plus the No. 2 team of Rachel Bottorff (SO/Newburgh, Ind.) and Kelsey Vessels (SO/Roanoke, Ind.) each won their match by 8-2 scores.
Wilson won her contest at No. 1-singles 6-1, 6-1 and Bottorff claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory at the second position. Siepman won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3-singles while Vessel was victorious 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. Mella earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5-singles and Morgan Smith (FR/Bremen, Ind.) completed the sweep with a 6-, 6-0 win at No. 6-singles.
Indiana Wesleyan will next play a non-league match at Anderson (Ind.) at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
