Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- Spring Arbor (Mich.) University provided little resistance as No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan University women's basketball claimed a blowout 83-46 victory on Saturday afternoon in Spring Arbor, Michigan.
Indiana Wesleyan (17-0, 5-0 CL) shot a blistering 53.6-percent (30 of 56) from the field as 12 different Wildcats scored. Indiana Wesleyan outscored Spring Arbor 36-18 in the paint and held a robust 32-3 advantage in points off turnovers. The IWU bench outplayed its counterpart 35-19.
Leading the way for Indiana Wesleyan once again was senior forward Paige Smith. She tallied a game-high 19 points and was 7-of-9 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Junior guard Taylor Goshert added 13 points and a game-best eight rebounds while senior guard Claire Ray totaled eight points, five rebounds, and eight assists.
Sophomore guard Teneil Krebs paced the bench scoring with 13 points as she hit 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. The 13 point outburst is a new career-high for Krebs as she bested her 12 point mark from last season. Sophomore forward Erika Isham added a season-best eight points and was a perfect 3-of-3 from the field.
The Wildcats dished out 27 assists on 30 field goals. The 27 assists is a season-best and the fourth time the Wildcats had 20 or more assists in the past five games.
Spring Arbor (6-11, 0-5 CL) could not come close to the efficiency of Indiana Wesleyan as they turned the ball over 27 times which led to the 32 IWU points off turnovers. Indiana Wesleyan collected 16 steals and limited Spring Arbor to only eight assists. It was the sixth straight game that Indiana Wesleyan has limited its opponent to less than 50 points.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to Luckey Arena their next time out as they host Goshen (Ind.) College on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
